Compassus Hospice is seeking volunteers who can facilitate art-related interactions with hospice patients. This is an opportunity to explore visual art as a healing modality. The heart of volunteering in hospice is simply spending time together; time both you and your patient will find rewarding, uplifting and inspiring. Our schedules are flexible and we welcome you to volunteer as often as you wish; any time you give is gratefully appreciated. We have volunteer opportunities available throughout Massachusetts.

Description

Compassus Hospice volunteers play a vital role in carrying out our mission to preserve each patient’s dignity while removing the fear associated with dying. Individuals who are 18 and older who are willing to share one to four hours per week are encouraged to apply to our program. Serving as a volunteer will enrich your own life in ways you can’t begin to imagine.

No previous experience in the medical field is necessary, and you will be prepared for your role with a free, comprehensive training program. This training will help you learn how to provide emotional support, companionship and respite care to patients and families.
