Volunteers with certification in massage therapy are welcome additions to the hospice interdisciplinary team. Massage therapy is offered to our patients to help promote comfort during their final journey of life. These volunteers are required to attend the same 15 hr training sessions as visitation volunteers. Training involves learning about the hospice philosophy of care, understanding the thoughts and feelings of persons facing terminal illness and sessions on active listening and effective communication. Support meetings are held several times per year with opportunities for additional training. Attendance at these meetings is optional but encouraged.

Description
Einstein Montgomery Hospice is a community centered healthcare program that provides coordinated care for individuals who are in the last phases of a terminal illness so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. It is a comprehensive program that offers supportive services in homes or care facilities to meet the varied and changing needs of the patient and family - physical, emotional, social and spiritual.
