Join the Student Serve & Learn Experience Program!

Enhance a positive patient care environment to provide a superior patient experience

Three Learning Tracks are available for Serve & Learn Experience Student volunteers:

• Administrative Assistance
• Retail (business and marketing)
• Patient Experience

PATIENT/VISITOR EXPERIENCE TRACK:
Transport patients in wheelchairs or on Zoom carts.
Transport visitors in wheelchairs to their destinations within the facility.
Provide an escort to patients, families and visitors within the facility.
Provide information and service to patients and families.
Deliver flowers, mail, and packages to patients.
Run errands and deliver items throughout facility.
Assist with discharging patients
Create friendly conversation to put patients and visitors at ease.
Tend to patient's non-medical needs such as adjust the thermostat, get a blanket, beverage or snack.
Follow-up appropriately to resolve patient concerns.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE TRACK:
Complete general office/administrative tasks such as:
* File
* Collate
* Data entry
* Complete computer projects
* Sort and assemble packets
* Make and answer phone calls

RETAIL TRACK:
Assist with day-to-day operations and sales in the Gift Gallery. All proceeds benefit the St. Cloud Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary. The Gift Gallery is an excellent place to shop for gifts for all occasions. We offer a plentiful selection of plush animals, flowers, plants, balloons, greeting cards, jewelry, seasonal items, and much more. Staffed by welcoming and gracious volunteers, you will always find a friendly and helpful voice.
Assist with Gift Gallery day-to-day operations and sales
Greet and assist customers with finding gifts
Provide excellent customer service to enhance shopper's experiences
Deliver flowers and gifts to patients and staff
Assist with displays
Operate the security system
Stock and price items
RETAIL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES:
Gift Shop Assistant - Maintaining sales and inventory at the Plaza location.

GIFT GALLERY LOCATIONS: St. Cloud Hospital, CentraCare Health Plaza, St. Benedict's Senior Community
