Volunteer with Friends of the LIbrary!

We Love Our Libraries!

Are you looking for an opportunity to give back? Do you love the library? Do you have retail, library, book selling, or customer service experience? Are you comfortable using an iPad or touch screen tablet? If so, the Friends of the Multnomah County Library may be the volunteer team for you!

The Friends of the Library's mission is to support the Multnomah County Library system through advocacy, fundraising, and volunteerism. We are looking for committed volunteers who love their library as much as we do!

Position Details

As a volunteer bookseller your primary duties are providing great customer service and ringing up book and merchandise sales. All volunteers help to maintain the store through stocking, merchandising, and assisting with special projects as needed. We also ask that you promote memberships and special events organized by the Friends of the Library. We will provide any training and support that you need to be successful.

Available Volunteer Opportunities

We are recruiting for 3 hour weekday and weekend shifts. The store has the same hours as the Central Library. We also have on-call volunteer positions to help fill in when regular shift-holders are unable to show. We ask for a six-month commitment, and we're always delighted when volunteers stay on longer.
