The Cancer Connections volunteers are part of a supportive care program within the Enloe Regional Cancer Program. A critical part of the caring for and healing patients with cancer is helping those patients stay connected.
Cancer Connections Volunteers provide emotional and practical support, meet non-medical needs, and provide resources to patients.
A telephone-based support service, the Cancer Connections volunteers work scheduled three-hour shifts between the hours of 10:00 and 4:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays. Volunteers come on-site to the Cancer Center to provide this service.
Training includes general hospital orientation, education, and on-the-job training totalling 10 hours. This is not a short-term placement and every effort is made to place individuals who will foreseeably be engaged in this activity for several years.

Description
Enloe Medical Center is a 298-bed nonprofit hospital with the mission of improving the quality of your life through patient-centered care. It is one of two Level II trauma centers north of Sacramento, houses the region’s only Level II neonatal intensive care unit and operates the FlightCare air ambulance service. Enloe’s comprehensive medical services include cardiac surgery and heart care, neurosurgery, orthopedics, total joint replacement, cancer care, maternity care, women's services and bariatrics.
Enloe caregivers are focused on engaging each other to achieve higher quality of care, reaching out to patients and families to create meaningful programs and building bridges with the community to support health and well-being.
Enloe is one of the few California hospitals still locally governed. The hospital’s community-based, volunteer Board of Trustees protects this local status and assures that dollars earned are reinvested to improve the health of the community.
Enloe Medical Center serves patients and community members throughout Butte County and California's North State.
