Adult volunteers in our Guest Services, Surgery Liaison position provide an important presence at our North Entrance reception desk. Volunteers provide communication updates to waiting surgery families, support staff, provide wayfinding and information to visitors approaching the desk and all-in-all help to create a warm and welcoming environment.
Due to the sensitive nature of this placement, we do not accept temporary volunteer placements of less than one full year. The most suitable candidates for this placement are adult community members who, barring unforeseen circumstances, plan to volunteer long-term.
College students are generally not appropriate for this position given the quickly changing nature of their availability. However, college students may be considered in this placement if they can commit to a year-round schedule for an anticipated minimum of 18 months.

Description
Enloe Medical Center is a 298-bed nonprofit hospital with the mission of improving the quality of your life through patient-centered care. It is one of two Level II trauma centers north of Sacramento, houses the region’s only Level II neonatal intensive care unit and operates the FlightCare air ambulance service. Enloe’s comprehensive medical services include cardiac surgery and heart care, neurosurgery, orthopedics, total joint replacement, cancer care, maternity care, women's services and bariatrics.
Enloe caregivers are focused on engaging each other to achieve higher quality of care, reaching out to patients and families to create meaningful programs and building bridges with the community to support health and well-being.
Enloe is one of the few California hospitals still locally governed. The hospital’s community-based, volunteer Board of Trustees protects this local status and assures that dollars earned are reinvested to improve the health of the community.
