Community Guide Needed: A brand new program that focuses on recreational volunteer opportunities with the goal of further connecting RST clients to the Dallas community.

Examples: walking tour of Downtown Dallas, showing the local parks, museums, aquarium, bus stops, lakes, walking and hiking trails, DART bus/train stops, and more!

Requirements:

  • Enjoy working with diverse populations
  • Able to make a minimum commitment of 3 months- longer if able
  • Bus riding experience a plus but not a requirement - DART's web site provides info to assist: www.DART.org
  • Sign and Submit the following required forms (which will be provided by the agency): confidentiality, background verification and RST volunteer application
  • Schedule a appointment with Mercedes Deviney, Volunteer Coordinator who will provide a overview of the agency and our refugee services.
  • A self-starter, able to implement tasks with little or no supervision

RST, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit agency affiliated with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS), Church World Service (CWS), and Episcopal Migration Ministry (EMM). Since 1978, RST has successfully resettled more than 12,000 refugees. Currently we have offices in: Amarillo, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston.
