Early Head Start Family Educator Assistant Volunteer

Learn and participate in the Early Head Start program while supporting the Early Head Start Family Educators and staff as they serve families with children ages birth to three years old. Create experiences for families with the help and guidance of Family Educators. Plan and carry out socialization playgroups with families within the EHS program. Organize files, clean toys, make or gather materials needed for home visits.

Our EHS volunteers get to experience how our program positively impacts the families we serve right here in our own community.

Established in 1965, Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties Community Action empowers people living in poverty to reach economic stability. We offer 16 unique programs to ensure that everyone, regardless of their economic situation, has the opportunity to thrive.

Last year, Community Action served 17,805 individuals and families. Our high-quality early childhood education programs ensure that our community's most vulnerable children are ready for kindergarten, and more likely to graduate from high school. Families learn and save in our matched savings program as they work to purchase their first home, launch or expand a business, or continue their education. At Community Action, individuals build their skills in orer to acheive meaningful employment. We offer the critical next steps in establishing and maintaining long-term economic stability.

Our participants are remarkable people. They take responsibility for making lasting changes in their lives by making use of their own unique strengths. As a result, they are better able to manage their living situations, and make positive steps toward economic stability.
