ENTER YOUR CAR IN THE RACE AGAINST CANCER AND HELP SAVE A LIFE. Become an American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program volunteer. Volunteers needed in DALLAS, TARRANT, JOHNSON, PARKER, ELLIS, DENTON, SMITH, AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES.
Every day thousands of cancer patients need a ride to a medical facility for treatment. Lack of transportation sometimes leaves people with cancer few options for completing their treatment.The American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery free program assists patients and their caregivers with these transportation needs. You can help save life by volunteering your time as a Road to Recovery driver or coordinator.
Become a volunteer driver. Volunteer drivers donate thier time and vehicles to take patients to and from thier treatment appointments. They provide encouragement and support.
To become a volunteer driver, all you need is:
- a safe and reliable vehicle
-a current, valid Texas driver's license
-proof of automobile insurance
-a good driving record
-a commitment to confidentiality
- to participate in a convenient online training
- to be available a minimum of one morning or afternoon Monday to Friday, 8-5.

The North and East Texas Area of the American Cancer Society is dedicated to servicing cancer patients by providing resources and support with Information, Day to Day Help and Emotional support. We have many programs that help cancer patients and their families continue with their life-saving treatment. Many of these programs would not be possible without the support of our dedicated volunteers. We have an office in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Tyler to support our life-saving mission to Tarrant,Collin, Dallas, Smith and all surrounding counties.
