Pets for Patriots, a 501(c)(3) organization connecting at-risk shelter pets with veterans and service members across the United States, is seeking one or more volunteer program coordinators for its new volunteer program.
Key responsibilities for individuals selected include:
- Assist management in developing and/or refining volunteer program tools, processes and strategy
- Review volunteer applications
- Interview applicants as needed (phone)
- Assign volunteers to a skill-, interest- and needs-appropriate role
- Ongoing volunteer management
- Work with charity leadership to review, assess and modify volunteer program as needed
- Maintain strong communication and leadership between the volunteer corps and Pets for Patriots management
Volunteer coordinators will be deeply involved in assisting Pets for Patriots with its growing shelter, veterinary and military outreach efforts, and managing volunteers doing similar work. Coordinators will oversee and manage other, non-outreach related volunteer efforts as well.
Similar experience strongly preferred.
