For the past decade, the Green Bay YMCA has been hosting Healthy Kids Day, a national initiative aimed at helping children and their families lead healthier lifestyles. The free event focuses on demonstrating that being active with your family is fun. Over 2500 children and their families are expected to participate in this year’s Healthy Kids Day at Shopko Hall on Saturday, May 6, 2017.

Choose one or both of the following shifts to volunteer for: 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 12 - 3 PM. Opportunities for volunteers range from assisting with arts and crafts, to supervising inflatable activities, preparing a healthy snack, and more! Volunteers for these full shifts will receive a volunteer t-shirt and lunch voucher.

Can't volunteer for the full three hours? Volunteers are also needed to act as course monitors for the Y Kids Fun Run. Individuals are needed from 11:15 AM - 12:45 PM and will still receive a volunteer t-shirt.

Volunteering at Healthy Kids Day is the perfect way for groups and families to give back to the community! Please email volunteer@greenbayymca.org for more information or to apply as a volunteer, use this link: http://surveys.ymcaexchange.org/f/179101/9574/

Mission Statement

To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Description

At the Y, we're more than a gym, we're a community! Over 1200 staff and 4,000 volunteers are ready to teach, coach, and care for our over 30000 members.

The Greater Green Bay YMCA is a cause-driven, non-profit organization that strengthens the foundations of our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

The Y believes in teaching character development through upholding the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in our daily lives.

The Y classifies volunteers into one of three categories: Corporate, Program, and Special Event. Corporate volunteers serve on our board or a corporate commitee. Program volunteers perform an on-going task for the Y, like Girls Night Out, Y Night, or Youth Sports. Special event volunteers assist the Y on a one-time basis for a specific event or task, like Halloween at the Y or Healthy Kids Day.
