ORGANIZATION: RSVP of the Pioneer Valley

Volunteer drivers help to keep seniors safe and independent in their own homes. In the Hampshire and Franklin County hill towns, the need is especially important where services are limited. A good driving record, insurance and a CORI check is required. Mileage reimbursement is provided, and the satisfaction of helping is guaranteed.

Hampshire and Franklin County Senior Centers: Medical appointment drivers transport seniors who no longer drive, and must be licensed with a good driving record. Insurance and CORi required. Mileage stipend available.

Food Bank of WMass: Volunteer drivers are needed to pick up food and deliver to the Food Bank, to area shelters and to local food pantries. Good driving record and ability to drive a box truck, and lift up to 50 pounds is required.

Highland Valley Elder Services and Franklin County Home Care: Meals on wheels drivers and meals on wheels packers in area Senior Centers are urgently needed. Pick a day or two and help a senior who is home bound.North Quabbin Meals on Wheels drivers. Call Carol S. directly at 773-5555 x 2216.

Description

RSVP volunteers must be 55 years or older and volunteer in Hampden, Hampshire or Fanklin County, MA. RSVP matches a volunteer's skills and interests with community organizations in Western Massachusetts that need help. RSVP staff remains available to help volunteers achieve the most out of their service.
