If you enjoy working with young people and families and want to make a difference in the world, volunteering with Youth For Understanding (YFU) USA may be right for you.
YFU Area Representatives act as mentors for international students who are attending local high schools, and are the liaison between host families, schools, and YFU.
This role will allow you, as a YFU Area Rep, to build relationships at a global level and expand friendships at home. YFU provides training and support for all volunteers and hopes you will consider becoming part of our international family.

Youth For Understanding (YFU) prepares young people for their responsibilities and opportunities in a changing, interdependent world.
Description
Through YFU student exchange programs, young people from around the world live with a host family in another crountry, immerse themselves in the local culture, and build friendships that bring crountries together. As these young people discover new worlds and make lasting friendships, they not only learn about another culture and a new language, they also gain perspective on the world and develop a stronger sense of self.
With 60 years of success in international student exchange, YFU has built a reputation for maintaining the highest quality programs in the field--just ask one of the 250,000 YFU alumni around the world.
YFU is a volunteer based organization with one of the largest international exchange scholarship programs in the world. Each year, more than 4,500 students and families participate in programs around the world, with YFU USA receiving more than 2,000 international students and sending over 500 American students abroad.
