Ford

Mom volunteers for mom dogs. Brood holder volunteers provide a loving and nurturing forever home for an adult female dog in the breeding program. Guide Dogs of Texas staff provides ongoing support to volunteers as they care for the dog during breeding cycles. Once the dog is three weeks away from delivery, the dog will live at Guide Dogs of Texas. The brood holder volunteer will be welcome to become involved in the whelping process and caring for the litter of pups after birth. At eight weeks of age, the pups will leave the school and go home with puppy raiser volunteers. At this time, the adult female brood returns to the home of the brood holder volunteer.

Volunteers should live in Austin, San Antonio, TX or the surrounding Hill Country area.
