*This opportunity is available at both the Tacoma and the Olympia location*
Essential Needs Delivery Volunteers make a difference by bringing essential needs to those unable to purchase these toiletries and household cleaning items. Bags are filled in the PCAF office and packed with items which are not available for purchase with food stamps, e.g. toilet paper, Band-Aids, toothpaste etc. By making bi-monthly deliveries of the Essential Needs items, volunteers provide the benefits of this program to PCAF clients who lack adequate transportation, are rural or are homebound.
Responsibilities:
- Pick up ENB and Chicken Soup Food bags from the Olympia office
- Deliver bags to client residences throughout Thurston and Lewis Counties
Qualifications:
- Must be 18
- Comfortable with topics of sexuality, sexual orientation and sexually transmitted diseases
- Must have a valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance
Commitment: Deliveries go out twice a month
Training: All PCAF volunteers must attend New Volunteer Orientation and pass a criminal history background check.
Benefits: Volunteers will gain knowledge about HIV/AIDS and the services PCAF offers to the community. They will also receive satisfaction from delivering needed items to clients who are unable to access these items another way.
Interested in becoming a PCAF volunteer? Contact our Development Coordinator, Hannah (hfebach@piercecountyaids.org) for a Volunteer Application and details on the upcoming New Volunteer Orientation!
