Junior Achievement of South Texas

Junior Achievement volunteers use practical, hands on activities to bridge the gap between what students are learning in school and how it can be applied in the real world. JA provides the training, curriculum, materials, and dedicated staff members to help ensure your volunteer experience is rewarding and fun... all you need to give is a little of your time. JA is the nonprofit leader in providing innovative financial literacy, work-readiness, and entrepreneurship education. JA encourages volunteers to share their personal and professional experiences with student to help make the connection between lessons in school and real life scenarios. Volunteers are the core of Junior Achievement's impact in the classroom. Trained volunteers visit classrooms for about 45 minutes once a week for 5 to 8 sessions, depending on the grade level. You can choose the grade level and even the class location by selecting a school close to your home or office. Parents and college students can even teach an elementary JA class.
