ORGANIZATION: Create Now

CreateNow is a non-profit organization partnering with The Phoenix House in order to create a 12-week program to help at-risk youth to develop the skills that they need in order to succeed after their treatment is complete.

Come in twice a week for four weeks to teach our kids how to design their artwork digitally, and help them along their path to recovery.

The Graphic Design portion of the program is 4 weeks long and should cover basic design skills that could later be expanded upon independently. The mentor would develop a curriculum in conjunction with the Program Development Assistant that best suits the needs of the program. Training for working with this demographic will be provided.

Mission Statement

Create Now is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1996 that transforms the lives of youth in need through arts mentoring and experiences. We serve vulnerable children from birth to age 24 with our therapeutic programs in music, writing, visual arts, fashion, digital media and the performing arts. Kids learn to express themselves in a positive manner versus the destructive ways that they have in the past. Each year, we also bring thousands of these youngsters to concerts, plays and other cultural events. We have reached over 44,000 of the most troubled youth in Southern California during the last 22 years.

Create Now empowers youth through arts education and mentoring. We especially serve children from Pre-K to age 24 (transitional youth) who have been abused, neglected, homeless, domestic violence victims, incarcerated, etc. by matching them with artists, writers, musicians, actors, dancers and others. Create Now provides training and materials to implement therapeutic programs in music, writing, visual arts, performing arts, fashion and digital media 175 partner agencies, like shelters and group homes.
