If you're interested in museums, photography, conservation, or history, then you'll enjoy working with the Tahoe Maritime Museum's collection. We need dependable volunteers that can devote a few hours each week to help document our collection of historic artifacts pertaining to Tahoe's boating past
As a volunteer you'll get hands on experience with items relating to:
- racing
- fishing
- yachting
- water skiing
- and, of course, mahogany speed boats
- record
- photograph
- package
- label
Interested individuals will be able choose tasks that best suit their interests and receive training in the appropriate techniques. We will work with you and your schedule to make this work for you. This is a great learning or internship opportunity for students and a great way for anyone to give back to the community.

Mission Statement
The Tahoe Maritime Museum’s mission is to stimulate an interest in and an understanding of Lake Tahoe’s maritime history through the highest standards of historic preservation, innovative interpretation and public education.
Description
Located on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, the Museum has an unsurpassed collection of classic wooden boats, art work, memorabilia, photographs, and other artifacts significant to Lake Tahoe maritime history. The Museum has a children's area offering fun and educational activities for the whole family and an engaging schools program aligned to state standards of education. The Museum hosts events throughout the year, including a summer lecture series, open houses and Family Fun days.
