The CHEER Program is looking for volunteers to provide supportive services to senior citizens of Bergen County. We provide grocery shopping and errands for the seniors. The CHEER Programs needs to have a commitment of 2 hours per week. Individuals and parent/child teams are welcome.

To provide in home assistance and caregiver support services enabling families and individuals to remain safe at home.
Description
Project Cheer offers supportive services to senior citizens who are minimally disabled and wish to retain as much independence as possible. Trained Cheer aides visit clients weekly to help with tasks such as shopping, errands and laundry. Often, having this type of assistance is all that is needed to allow an elderly person the ability to continue to remain in his or her own home. Currently using paid workers with several volunteer aides, the agency is looking to expand the volunteer component, to reduce the 80 person wait list.
