Are you looking for a fun and meaningful volunteer opportunity? Would you like to assist in enhancing library services and programming in your community? Are you looking for hours that count towards your high school required community service learning or portfolio requirements?
The San Diego Public Library is now seeking applications for Adult and Children's Summer Reading Program Ambassadors!
Responsibilities may include: Promoting the Summer Reading Program to teachers, students, parents and schools; soliciting community sponsorships; signing up patrons for the program; designing/creating displays and other promotional materials; maintaining and recording program statistics; packaging and distributing prizes; assisting staff at Reading Program special events.
Summer Reading Ambassador's duties will be customized and varied to best meet the time, interest and skill sets of the volunteer while advancing the mission and goals of the San Diego Public Library's Summer Reading Program.
Volunteers will receive training and are needed through August 15.
You may work all of or a portion of that time period, but you must be at least 14 years old and available a minimum of 2 hours per week.
