The Georgia DHS Division of Aging Services and Area Agencies on Aging located throughout the state have exciting, meaningful volunteer opportunities waiting for you. Join our volunteer team and show your gratitude to the elders who have built Georgia's families and communities.

Deliver food and friendship to an elder. Can you take hot lunches to a small group of homebound seniors just one morning a month or more often? You make a difference. Please join the fight against senior hunger in your community.

GeorgiaCares SMP: Help Medicare beneficiaries learn to protect themselves by demonstrating how to detect and report healthcare fraud. Conduct one-on-one counseling, staff community outreach booths, and make group presentations.
GeorgiaCares SHIP: Assist Medicare beneficiaries with understanding their insurance benefits and applying for financial assistance programs through one-on-one counseling, community outreach booths, and group presentations.
Elder Abuse & Consumer Fraud Prevention: Provide information over the phone to families or victims, make presentations to the community, and distribute information at health fairs.
Wellness Workshops: Become a Lay Leader for Living Well: the Stanford University Chronic Disease Self Management Program. Help empower people with chronic conditions to cope with common symptoms such as pain, fatigue, difficult emotions, and stress. Training and full coordination are provided.
Senior Centers: Lead or assist with group activities such as crafts, games, fitness, or lifelong learning.
Internships and Special Projects: Write promotional and consumer materials, conduct research, make community contacts, and more. If you have a special skill, we can put it to use.
Volunteer Groups: Contact us to discuss possibilities. We have plenty of short-term project ideas.

The Georgia DHS Division of Aging Services, the Aging Network and other partners assist older individuals, at-risk adults, persons with disabilities, their families and caregivers to achieve safe, healthy, independent and self-reliant lives.
Description
The Georgia DHS Division of Aging Services manages a statewide system of services and information for older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, and communities. We work closely with 12 Area Agencies on Aging throughout the state, plus a large network of related organizations, to provide resources that help older adults and people with disabilities live longer, life safely, and live well.
