Do you want to inspire guests to get outdoors? Help our visitors discover a world close to home, yet worlds apart at the Plains Conservation Center as a Visitor Center Facilitator.
The Plains Conservation Center is looking for friendly, nature-loving folks to help introduce visitors to our local natural and cultural history.
Training Provided.
Responsibilities of Visitor Center Facilitators:
- Greet visitors.
- Guide visitors to on-site hiking trails.
- Share about the mission of the PCC.
- Engage in conversations about the short-grass prairie.

Mission Statement
The Plains Conservation Center exists to bring the natural wonder of the prairie into the realm of personal experience by: PRESERVING a remnant of the eastern Colorado High Plains, EDUCATING the public about its natural and cultural heritage, and NURTURING sound conservation and environmental ethics.
Description
The Plains Conservation Center (PCC) is a non-profit organization that seeks to connect people to the natural wonders of the high plains of Colorado. PCC’s main site in east Aurora includes a 1,000-acre short-grass prairie natural area, an 1837 replica Cheyenne Camp and the 1887 replica Wells Crossing community including homestead soddies, farm, one room schoolhouse and blacksmith workshop. The PCC gives programs to over 8,000 school children and sees over 18,000 visitors a year.
