Garden Internship Gorman Heritage Farm

Details

Volunteers are welcome to join us as we learn about invasive plant species, why they are detrimental to our environment and also take action to combat their wide spread growth. Start the day with a brief lesson about the impact invasive plants have on our native biodiversity and also how to properly identify these harmful plants and how to remove them. We will then go to one of our multiple trails around our 122 acre non-profit farm to search out and remove invasive plant species.

Through this program we hope to educate volunteers on the negative impact invasive species play in our environment. Volunteers will learn how to identify these harmful plant species and the best ways to combat their growth, hopefully fully preventing their return.

*Use of herbicide is required to treat honeysuckle.
