Officially starting in January 2010, the IFWC really began in January 2008 when women in North Cambridge began to really develop relationships and get to know one another through VCO programs and events. Composed of women primarily from Christian and Muslim backgrounds, these women despite cultural and religious differences wanted a vehicle both to get to know one another better and to practically help local neighbors and then formed the IFWC to do that. Past events have included a food drive and hosting a Welcoming Dinner for Iraqi Refugees. The purpose of these gatherings is to have a shared space and experience that enables us to get to know one another better.
