Young Friends of Cradles to Crayons are a group of young professionals, ages 21-40, who help Cradles to Crayons achieve its vision that one day every child will have the essentials they need to feel safe, war m, ready to learn and valued. As a Young Friend of Cradles to Crayons, you will build your professional network, contribute to Cradles to Crayons’ growth, and have fun volunteering with like-minded peers. Volunteering at Cradles to Crayons is a professional networking opportunity which simultaneously provides low-income and homeless children with vitally needed everyday essentials. Joining Young Friends will give you the opportunity to: Have fun: connect socially with peers who are also interested in making a positive impact in the community Develop professionally by networking with other young professionals from the Greater Philadelphia area Engage in meaningful, high-energy volunteer experiences at our Giving Factory the second Wednesday of each month from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Help Cradles to Crayons financially by coordinating and managing various fundraising events (i.e. Happy Hours, Miniature Golf Tournament, Bowling Night, and more)

Our Mission: To provide, free of charge, low-income and homeless children from birth to pre-teen the basic essentials they need to be safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued. We also set a foundation for lasting change through the meaningful, tangible volunteer opportunities we provide to thousands of youth and adults each year. We're the glue between communities that have and communities that need.
Description
Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit agency that distributes children's clothing, books, toys, equipment, and school supplies to low-income and homeless children ages birth to twelve in the greater Philadelphia area.
We gather new and gently used products from community drives and individual donations, organize and process the goods in our warehouse, then work with established social service agencies (including social workers, schools and hospitals, and other non-profits) to distribute the goods directly to children in need. All products and services are provided free of charge, and thanks to our many dedicated volunteers and supporters we've been able to keep costs low and benefits high.
