This summer we are seeking students (ages 16 and up) to engage our visitors at our hands-on Mountaintop Activity Center and our Summer Adventures Camp. Student volunteers will be assisting Monticello staff members and helping our visitors make the most of our programs and amenities. Training will be provided. This is an excellent way to serve your community, gain experience working with the public, take on new responsibilities, and learn more about American History in the process. Students should be available between June 15-August 14 and able to commit to a minimum of one shift per week (about 4 hours). Schedules can be adjusted to allow for family vacations and other commitments, but we are seeking a minimum of 10 shifts over the course of the summer. Please apply no later than May 30, 2015. To apply send the following information to volunteer@monticello.org. -your name, school and grade level -contact info (email is fine) for you and a parent or guardian -a brief statement of why you are interested in volunteering with us: what do you hope to gain from the experience? why Monticello? what skills or experience do you have that might be useful as a volunteer?
