Thank YOU for considering becoming part of the Next Move Volunteer A.C.T. (Achieving Change Together) program! Volunteers at the Donation Center are a key role in distributing essential resources for our clients such clothing and household items FREE at cost for homeless families with children and individuals.
Do you like to help others? Do you have retail background? Are you comfortable and effective in a leadership role? Is great Customer Service your thing? Then we have the right place for you!
Customer Service Volunteer Manager - Ages 18 (M-W-F 9:00-1:30pm) Flexible Times
Core Duties and Responsibilities include engaging volunteers with the following:
Accept appropriate donations from donors
Help donors fill out "Donation Acknowledgement Form" and file it.
Check clients in and out through proper procedures.
Assist clients find clothing and household goods.
Bag or package client’s items.
Sort usable clothing vs. non-usable clothing

Description
Celebrating over 40 years of service to women and families with children, Next Move is the area's longest run homeless shelter. Next Move (formerly Sacramento Area Emergency Housing Center) operates 11 programs in Sacramento County including one of only two emergency shelters that accept single fathers, two parent families and sons over the age of 14. Serving 1,650 clients a year, Next Move is an established and trusted agency that provides the services necessary to break the cycle of homelessness.
