Home Works will be repairing homes of elderly and disabled homeowners in the Greenville area Saturday April 30th, from 8:00 in the morning until 5:00 PM.
Repairs will range from repairing/replacing roofs, painting, building ramps, plumbing or anything that enhances the safety and livability of a home.
Our activities specifically engage youth (14 and older) in these repairs by working with adult guidance. School/ Church/ Youth groups are encouraged along with individuals who desire to serve. No experience is necessary, but skilled adults are particularly needed.
Please visit our website for more information or registration: www.HomeWorksofAmerica.org or call (864 313-8099).

Description
Home Works' activities will focus on providing home repairs to homeowners in need, assisting youth in their development and empowering communities to meet the needs of its members.
Home Works began in 1996 repairing homes of the elderly and disadvantaged with the targeted volunteer being a youth led by an adult mentor. The repair sessions are for safety and structure and last between one-day to one-week in length. We serve cities in GA, NC, SC and Zorritos, Peru.
Homeowners must own their home in an area we serve and only have passive sources of income such as Social Security, Pension and Disability. Repairs range from building a wheelchair ramp, installing grab bars, repairing a leaking roof, painting, to plumbing and electric work.
These repairs allow the homeowner to remain in their home as they age if they so desire and most importantly they are conveyed hope.
Since 1996, over 1,200 homes have been repaired by over 14,000 volunteers. Over 98% of every dollar received is spent on program expenses. As a result, Home Works has received the South Carolina Secretary of State's Angel Award.
