Blood Drive Volunteers are needed to support the collection of blood at local blood drives and donor centers. Every day, Volunteers assist blood donors through the donation process to help the Northern Ohio Blood Region meet collections goals to provide area hospitals with blood and blood products.
Volunteers can assist in non-regulated areas such as:
Reception Volunteer: Greet blood donors and instruct blood donor on proper sign-in process.
Donor escort: Properly escort blood donors from the donor bed area to the refreshment area.
Refreshment Volunteer: Serve refreshments to blood donors and notify collection staff of donors who may not be feeling well.
High School Refreshment Monitor Volunteer: Mentor student volunteers in the refreshment area at high school blood drives. Provide station instructions and assist in keeping student volunteers focused on the tasks at their assigned station.
Another area of interest may also be Collection Set Labeler - label and assemble collection sets. This task is a regulated position and requires upfront and continuing training.
Occasionally, volunteers are requested for office support or special projects.
