Help to ensure and improve the quality of life for residents of long-term care facilities. The Georgia Mountains Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program of Legacy Link, Area Agency on Aging seeks dedicated volunteers to train as advocates for residents of long term care facilities including nursing homes, personal care homes, and assisted living homes. Long Term Care Ombudsmen seek to improve the quality of life for these residents. After training, volunteers visit residents once a month to assist in ensuring that their rights are protected. For interested volunteers, additional training is available to become a Certified Volunteer Ombudsman. You can make a difference in the lives of long term care residents with these monthly visits to a designated facility near your home or work. Opportunities available in the North Georgia Counties of Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White.
