Long Term Care Residents' Advocate

Help to ensure and improve the quality of life for residents of long-term care facilities. The Georgia Mountains Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program of Legacy Link, Area Agency on Aging seeks dedicated volunteers to train as advocates for residents of long term care facilities including nursing homes, personal care homes, and assisted living homes. Long Term Care Ombudsmen seek to improve the quality of life for these residents. After training, volunteers visit residents once a month to assist in ensuring that their rights are protected. For interested volunteers, additional training is available to become a Certified Volunteer Ombudsman. You can make a difference in the lives of long term care residents with these monthly visits to a designated facility near your home or work. Opportunities available in the North Georgia Counties of Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White. Georgia Mountains LTCO Ombudsman Program is part of the Legacy Link, Area Agency on Aging for the Georgia Mountains Area.

Description

Legacy Link, Inc. is the Area Agency on Aging serving 13 counties North Georgia by providing information, assistance and referral services for seniors and people with disabilities. Legacy Link is the sponsor for the Georgia Mountains Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), a federally funded Senior Corps program which matches seniors age 55 and older with volunteer opportunities in their own communities. Counties served include Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White.
