Be the smiling face that clients, donors and agency partners see when they first enter Housing Hope's offices.

Duties include reception, data entry, filing, mailing and other special projects. Volunteers are needed Tuesdays, Thursday or Fridays on an ongoing basis for all or part of the day. We can set the schedule to fit your needs.

Housing Hope will give you any necessary training. We prefer a commitment of at least six months of consistent service.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Answer the telephones with 8 lines.

a) Use a professional manner with callers and staff.

b) Give information to the public.

c) Transfer calls to staff.

d) Take effective messages.

e) Transfer callers to voice mail.

2. Greet and assist visitors as they arrive.

a) Use a professional manner with visitors.

b) Give information to the public.

c) Call staff to meet their appointments.

3. Learn about Housing Hope programs and policies so you can answer questions from public.

4. Learn to use office equipment

a) Fax machine.

b) Postage machine.

c) Copy machine.

5. Provide clerical support to other staff

a) Be able to understand directions correctly

b) Finish the project in a timely manner while answering the phones

Mission Statement

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Snohomish County matches skills/training and preferences of persons 55+ to available volunteer opportunities and promotes their voluntary service as a valuable community resource.

Description

RSVP matches personal interests, skills and lifelong experiences with non-profit public organizations at over 116 different partner agencies, including non-profits, throughout the county. Benefits of being an RSVP volunteer are: ~excess insurance coverage including Liability, Auto, and Accident. ~partial reimbursement for transporatation costs to and from volunteer stations, subject to certain regulations and limits. ~ongoing recognition and Annual Recognition Event to RSVP volunteers. The only agency tracking and reporting the volunteer activities of persons age 55 and older through the National Senior Corps, RSVP promotes retired and senior persons as viable members of the community, able to share their skills, time and experience through volunteer service.
