The Karma Cat Zen Dog Rescue Society provides a temporary home to several cats at the North Brunswick Petsmart - in the Adoption Center. To keep our cats entertained and socialized, we schedule volunteers for mid-day socializing time. If you can commit to an hour or two a week to play, brush, tidy up after, and love our cats please contact us. The timing of this volunteer experience is flexible - but mid-day (12 to 4 pm) would be best for the kitties. :)

Volunteers must be able to work independently, have reliable transportation, be at least 18 years of age, handle the cats with love & care, recognize the signs of illness and communicate promptly and effectively with other volunteers. Training will be provided.

Please note: socializing is only done Monday-Friday. NO WEEKEND HOURS.

For more information on Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society, use the "I Want to Help" button at the top of the listing.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Karma Cat Rescue Society is to provide a safe and peaceful haven for homeless, abandoned or abused animals. We will help decrease the number of cats being destroyed in kill shelters through the work of our adoption, trap-neuter-return, and education programs.

Description

The vision of the Karma Cat Rescue Society is a world where every companion animal is respected, fed, warm, happy, and not in danger of being killed because it is temporarily homeless.

Our values and guiding principles are:

Compassion: Goodwill and respect for all living creatures.

Success: Effectiveness will be judged by the extent to which animal lives are saved and improved and by the positive experience of the people we contact.

Leadership: We lead by example - developing, promoting and sharing great new ideas and programs to help animals.

Transparency: We are open and honest in our relationships and interactions.
