Volunteers must attend 40 hours of training and submit background checks. One year commitment required.

** We are now recruiting for our Spring Training beginning in late April 2018**

We are seeking individuals to volunteer in the position of Overnight Shelter Volunteer at our Domestic Violence Safehouse or our Family Homeless Shelter during the overnight shift (11pm-7am). Volunteer Shelter Coordinators answer the hotline/helpline, ensure the smooth operation of the shelter, and respond to the daily needs of shelter residents. Two shifts per month required.

Doorways for Women and Families creates pathways for women, men and children out of homelessness, domestic violence and sexual assault leading to safe, stable and empowered lives by offering emergency shelter, housing, life changing support services and community advocacy in Arlington, Virginia.
