The Ronald McDonald Family Room is located in the North Carolina Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill. Volunteers are needed to help provide a warm, friendly, and supportive atmosphere for families of hospitalized children. The room provides a "home away from home" inside the hospital walls where family members of seriously ill inpatient children can take a respite from patient care, while remaining only steps away from their child's bedside.

These programs provide a bridge to accessible health care and allow families more time together, which helps in the healing process. RMHC and its global network of local Chapters also have hundreds of millions of dollars in grants and program services to children's programs around the world.
