The Fellside house is a part of Gould Farm, a therapeutic community located in the Berkshires that serves people with mental health challenges. Fellside is a transitional program that provides both residential and non-residential services in Medford and the Boston area. As a part of the team, you will have a chance to be a part of a progressive mental health recovery program that values community living and holistic healing. Some of our residential volunteers have an interest in eventually pursuing a post graduate degree in social work, psychiatry, or other related fields. This position provides an opportunity to gain important experience that provides a context for future studies in this field.

Volunteers support clients in acquiring life skills that will help them transition towards independent living. Working alongside residents, volunteers contribute their strengths to the Fellside community through wellness and life skills coaching, cooking, arts and crafts, music, yoga, fitness, gardening, administration, and more. Volunteers generally commit to a one year assignment and receive room and board (shared apartment, utilities, food, and parking), full medical insurance, and a bi-weekly
stipend.

Volunteers who commit to a one-year assignment receive room and board, medical insurance, and a bi-weekly stipend.

About Gould Farm

Location:

100 Gould Rd., Monterey, MA 01245, US

Mission Statement

Gould Farm is a therapeutic community that promotes recovery for people with mental health and related challenges through meaningful work, community living, and clinical care.

Description

Founded in 1913, Gould Farm is a private, nonprofit, residential psycho-social rehabilitation program for adults with mental health and related challenges. This healing community is located on a 700 acre working farm in the Berkshires. Our integrated treatment model blends productive and meaningful work activities, with life in a caring community of staff, guests (our term for clients) and volunteers, with clinical services to support the whole person. Guests are given the option of choosing to work on one of our many work teams: Forestry and Grounds, Farm, Garden, Harvest Barn Bakery, Kitchen, Maintenance, or Roadside Cafe.

All volunteers, staff, and their families live on the grounds, providing a uniquely supportive environment for personal and social growth. As guests get ready for more independence, we offer a program in the Boston area as the next step in recovery and community integration. Our goal is to give every individual the opportunity to gain the confidence, skills, and readiness required to build more independent and meaningful lives.
