Mission Statement
Junior Achievement inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy. Our volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential. With the help of more than 218,000 volunteers, JA students develop the skills they need to experience the realities and opportunities of work and entrepreneurship in the 21st century global marketplace.
Description
Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida (JASWFL) educates and inspires young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics to improve the quality of their lives. Basic beliefs are integrity, respect and excellence. Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida is a partnership between the business community, educators, and volunteers- all working together to inspire young people to dream big and reach for the stars!
Our free, hands-on, experiential programs teach the key concepts of work-readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship through sequential and integrated K-12 programs.
Our volunteers are the messengers of free enterprise and are the positive role models students look to for guidance, knowledge, and an example of success. Volunteers teach fun-filled, easy to follow lessons, while bringing their own personal experiences in business, personal finance, and career preparation into the classroom.
Volunteers are provided with comprehensive training, all inclusive materials, and are asked to commit just one hour per week for 5-7 weeks to teach a class. They inspire students of various ages and backgrounds to set high goals and achieve personal success.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss how you can participate as a volunteer in teaching and inspiring the future business leaders of our community!
