Position Title: Hispanic Outreach Ambassador

Purpose: Assist with the development of blood donation within Hispanic/Latino communities

Key Responsibilities:

• Willingness to support Red Cross Mission

• Punctual and dependable in arriving for assignment(s)
• Attend local outreach opportunities. Opportunities may include, but are not limited to: Faith Based events, health fairs, community fairs and blood drives
• Present diversity materials and information to constituents
• Encourage community members to donate blood. Schedule donations when appropriate
• Correspond regularly with Community Outreach Program Manager to ensure that information presented is up-to-date and share experiences/questions/ concerns in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 18 years
• Ability to converse in Spanish and/or Portuguese
• Ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations
• Good communication, customer service and public relations abilities
• Ability to relate to community members in a pleasant and courteous manner

Training:

• Orientation to American Red Cross Penn-Jersey Blood Services Region
• American Red Cross Volunteer Training
• Community Outreach training

Reports to or Partners with:

Community Outreach Program Manager - Hispanic/Latino Communities

Regional Managers, Volunteer Administration

Time Commitment: Must attend at least one event every three months (Hours of events vary)

Development Opportunities:

• Gain valuable training/experience while providing an invaluable service to the community
• Network with community leaders
• Develop customer service skills
