A Crisis Intervention Volunteer is often the first point of contact that a victim makes with our agency. Our volunteers take short shifts covering our 24-hour crisis line. They provide crisis counseling, information, and assistance to the caller. Volunteers also advocate and support survivors at the hospital or law enforcement agencies when needed.
We provide free training several times a year to prepare volunteers for this important role. After the training, you sign up for shifts using our online scheduler according to your availability and can take the shift from home. Calls are routed to the number you give us--cell or home.
