Kalookan Best, upon his arrival to CSRDT.
Kal came to us in this condition. He is now a plump, happy horse who has begun training. Our goal is to find all our rescues a forever home.

Cowgirl Spirit Equine Rescue is a unique horse rescue organization that saves slaughter-bound horses, rehabilitates them, retrains them, then adopts them to their forever homes. Our organization is completely run by volunteers, and is totally funded by donations.

We are always in need of dedicated volunteers to help with the daily care of our rescue horses. If you have experience with horses and have found yourself with a horse-sized hole in your heart, please contact us! This group is a great way to get back into working with horses, or just to get your horsie-fix if time or finances won't allow you to own your own horse.

Members are also eligible to try out to ride with our riding team after volunteer and membership requirements are met.
