Help some very special riders mount up and leave their disabilities on the ground. Volunteers serve as Horse Handlers who are responsible for the horse during the lessons and as Sidewalkers who walk beside the riders to assist with balance and to reinforce the instructor's directions.

Mission Statement
The mission of JoyRide is to help people with different abilities find more joy in life through equine assisted activities and therapies, along with functional/life skills education.
Description
JoyRide provides Hippotherapy which literally means "treatment with the help of the horse". In Hippotherapy, the horse influences the rider rather than the rider controlling the horse. Benefits include increased trunk strength and control, improved balance and posture, improved gross and fine motor skills, greater self esteem and confidence, and improved memory and organizational skills. JoyRide also offers Therapeutic Riding where the rider influences and controls the horse. Horsemanship skills are taught by our team of PATH, Intl. certified instructors and therapists. Our differently-abled clients range in age from 3-adult.
