Make a difference for the youth in your community: volunteer as a Youth Sports Coach! Under the direction of the Youth Director, the Youth Sports Coach is responsible for teaching the youth the basic skills of the sport, and creating a fun, safe, and helpful environment for all youth involved. Volunteer coaches should: Arrive 10 minutes prior to the game and help put away equipment used during practice Be prepared prior to each games and practice Demonstrate, instruct, and correct the children in skills, and to keep it fun Keep parents informed of their child's progress in class Classes are held once a week for 60 minutes on Saturday afternoons. Volunteers are asked to commit to an twelve week term. Volunteers may coach in as many leagues as they choose. Ages enrolled in the leagues will range from 5 to 12 years. The position requires the volunteer to be friendly, courteous, helpful, and good with children, and parents. The person must have a background with the sport they are teaching and children. The person must be able to flexible, accommodating, and have a general understanding of the Nashua YMCA.

The YMCA of Greater Nashua is a not-for profit organization dedicated to providing services and opportunities for youth and families in southern NH. The YMCA provides services in the area of child care, aquatics, camping, sports, Arts & Humanities, Wellness, and leadership development. Last year more than 26,000 different individuals used the YMCA of Greater Nashua. 12,000 of the individuals served were under the age of 18, making the YMCA the largest provider of youth services in Greater nashua after the Nashua school district. Over 1,300 youth and individuals were provided with financial assistance to participate at the YMCA. More than 320 different programs are offered. The YMCA of Greater Nashua has three locations: Nashua YMCA at 17 Prospect St, Nashua; Merrimack YMCA at 6 Henry Clay Dr, Merrimack, and Camp Sargent on Lake Naticook in Merrimack.
