Smart Farm of Barrington is hosting the 6th annual Frozen Zucchini Snowshoe Adventure, a 5k snowshoe run, on January 31, 2016 in Barrington, Illinois. We need volunteers to make this fundraiser a success. The Frozen Zucchini will begin at 10am at Citizens Park in Barrington, IL. This run is open to individuals of all levels, no experience necessary. Snowshoe rentals are available through he Frozen Zucchini. We will host several free kids events. Description
LEARN: Smart Farm is a permaculture farm for the Barrington area and nearby communities. Adults, children, and students learn about their agricultural heritage, organic regenerative farming, the slow food movement, and best practices for living "green," sustainable lives.
GROW : Volunteer to help us grow our vegetables, using the latest techniques in integrated pest management, water and soil conservation, and composting.
SHARE: A portion of our produce is shared with local food pantries and other hunger relief agencies.
