It's the holiday season and that means TURKEYS! United Food Bank, along with numerous other agencies across Arizona, is working hard to make sure that every hungry family has a turkey for their holiday dinners.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Greet donors and receive turkeys and other donations from them, record donations, offer receipts, and store food. Some periods may be very busy; others may be quiet. Short, 2-hour shifts!

NOTES ABOUT THIS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

This activity takes place in or near a warehouse, including significant time outdoors. Please wear

• comfortable, layered clothing
• have gloves handy (for handling cold turkeys)
• and CLOSED TOED shoes (no flip-flops, sandals, or peep-toes are permitted; sneakers are ideal).

Some or all volunteers may need to enter the freezer, or handle cold products.

QUALIFIED VOLUNTEERS:

Volunteers must be 12-15 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers 16 and 17 may work without an adult and are encouraged to work in pairs or trios. Parents must sign volunteer waiver for all volunteers under 18.
