Special Event Planning Committee Volunteer is responsible to take a lead role in the planning of the event. This would include choosing one of many lead roles, attending meetings on a monthly or bi-monthly meeting, and following through with agreed upon leadership role. May include, but not be limited to making phone calls, soliciting donations or goods/services, picking up donations, and making arrangements. Must have regular communication with staff Special Events Coordinator regarding status of assignment. Volunteer opportunity includes evening and possibly day time commitment. Mission Statement

To help prevent child abduction and sexual exploitation; help find missing children; and assist victims of child abduction and sexual exploitation, their families, and the professionals who serve them.

Description

NCMEC/NY offers prevention education classes for parents, children, law enforcement and other professionals. Case assistance to law enforcement and families on missing children's cases. Poster distribution to targeted areas across the nation based upon investigative leads. NetSmartz Internet safety programs for grades K-12/parents and caretakers. Prevention Works programs for parents/caretakers at corporations, etc. Speaker's Bureau promotes education safety and awareness in the community with Child ID events and educational displays.

Programs supported through annual fundraisers: The Ride for Missing Children, Motorcycles for the Missing and the annual Dinner Auction.
