Be a classroom assistant in our innovative Learning for Life program, which brings the best elements of a college experience to young adults with developmental disabilities!
Opportunities for this volunteer position are weekdays from 9:15 AM - 10:30 AM, 10:45 AM to 12:15 PM, 3 PM - 4:15 PM, and 4:20 PM to 5 PM, or in almost any combination of those times.
Classes are in the liberal arts, academic skill-building in small groups, painting, drama, eurythmy, gardening, pottery, bike repair, and many more. There is sure to be a fit for your interests!
Class assistants are present in the classroom to assist students who may need 1-on-1 help to complete assignments in class, stay focused, or just get the most out of the material. Teachers will provide volunteers with an overview of the class, as well as provide coaching as to any specific support needs.
This is a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity, and a great way to build relationships with young people with developmental disabilities!

Description
Camphill Soltane provides continuing education for young adults with developmental disabilities andmeaningful career paths for adults with developmental disabilities. Many students and residents live in the Camphill Soltane community along with residential supporters; some day students and residents also join us from the local area.
Camphill Soltane was founded in 1988 on a 50-acre campus about an hour west of Philadelphia. Camphill Soltane is one of more than 100 communities in the international Camphill Movement, which began in Europe in 1939 as a humanitarian response to the social and moral conditions of the time. The founders of Camphill realized that sharing life with people who need more support or a different pace of life brings beautiful qualities into all our lives.
