This is your chance to make magic and change the life of a child!!! ***It only takes 1 hour a week, during lunch time*** Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio is a non- profit prevention-based agency that serves the community by providing quality mentoring relationships to children and youth in need of a friend. For more than 80 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has served many thousands of children and youth in Franklin, Delaware, and Union counties through its mentoring and camping programs. Our mission is to help Hispanic children reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one mentor relationships. Our vision is to provide successful mentoring relationships for all Hispanic children who need and want them, contributing to better schools, brighter futures and stronger communities for everyone. BBBS partnership with South-Western City Schools began in 2001 due to an influx of ESL (English as a Secong Languange) students to the district and their need of support. During a program session Mentors and students meet for about 45 minutes to an hour/once a week during the students lunch time throughout the school year. All the children that are served in the three locations for South-Western City Schools are bilingual. Volunteers are not required to speak Spanish or any language other then English. Please contact us to get started.
