Beaches Habitat for Humanity always seeks willing, eager and enthusiastic individuals to help build and rehabilitate simple, decent, affordable homes for families in need of a hand up. Construction volunteer opportunities are available most Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8am to 12pm or 8am to 4pm, Fridays from 8am to 12pm and Saturdays from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Pre-registration is required.
Safety standards require that all volunteers be at least 16 years of age to participate in construction activities. No special skills or tools are required - our staff will train anyone willing to help. All you need is an open mind, a pair of work boots or sneakers and a willingness to work hard for a good cause. Volunteers are led by staff and other experienced volunteers in tasks through every phase of home construction. Individual volunteers may be asked to frame, paint, landscape, shingle or participate in many other tasks. At the end of construction, each home is dedicated and sold to a family with a 0% interest affordable mortgage.

Beaches Habitat for Humanity is your local Habitat, serving Eastern Duval County including the three Jacksonville Beaches communities. Beaches Habitat operates locally in partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, working toward our shared vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Families and individuals in your community partner with Beaches Habitat to build or improve a place they can call home. Beaches Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Recognizing the importance of education in empowering people to build strength, stability, and independence, Beaches Habitat also offers educational programs to promote academic achievement and excellence among our homeowners and their families. Through financial support, volunteering, and adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower.
