Read to pre-school students in early childhood classrooms in the St. Johns County School District. Use your creativity to make stories come alive. Many opportunities are available, including book reading, puppets, storytelling, and more. Training and background screening are provided free of charge. Just 45 minutes per week can bring literacy to life for children!!

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of St. Johns County provides meaningful opportunities for people 55 years of age and better to assist students in their educational pursuits, mobilize community volunteers for service, and assist not-for-profit agencies in St. Johns County with special support.
Description
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of St. Johns County provides meaningful opportunities for people 55 years of age and better to assist children and adults in their educational pursuits. RSVP volunteers serve in schools within the St. Johns County School District (kindergarten - 12 th grade), the Head Start program, and select child care centers, providing reading, tutoring, mentoring and other assistance. RSVP volunteers are available to assist not-for-profit and social service agencies with special projects. The program also strives to place potential volunteers of any age in meaningful service to the community.
