At a glance: We need able bodied volunteers at 7:00AM and 7:30 AM Monday-Saturday for 3-4 hours to ride along with our drivers and load food donations.
About us: North County Community Services Food Bank supplies food to 100 other nonprofits that reach over 20,000 people every month with food assistance. We need your help loading food donations from grocery stores and unloading them at our warehouse in San Marcos.
Tasks: Ride along with staff drivers in NCCS Food Bank vehicles and help load, unload, and weigh food donations. Shifts start at 7:00AM or 7:30AM, Monday-Saturday. Heavy lifting required.
Benefits: We train you, and you get a workout while giving back to your community! This is a great resume builder for high school or college students, and we can give letters of recommendation to outstanding long term volunteers. Some court ordered referrals okay.
Other information: You must be very reliable and punctual for this position. The job involves repetative lifting of moderately to very heavy donations, so good strength and good endurance are necessary. This would not be a good position if you have back problems or trouble lifting or bending.

Description
North County Community Services (NCCS) is a nonprofit organization in Northern San Diego County. For over 40 years, NCCS has been providing vitally needed services to local residents, operating five Preschool Child Development Centers as well as North Countys Food Bank which was established 1989. NCCS also has three-quarters of an acre farm located in Oceanside which helps provide fresh produce for the child development centers.
The address listed here is our admin building. Volunteer opportunities with NCCS are located throughout North County San Diego, not usually at this address.
