Museum Information Specialists are on the front lines for our visitors to the New York Sate Museum. They not only welcome visitors but also provide information services daily to museum visitors and to persons telephoning the museum for assistance. The Museum Information Specialist provide a broad range of information about the institution, itâ s exhibitions, public programs and directions to various resources within the Cultural Education Center such as the State Archives, Library and Research Areas. Volunteer shifts available are 9:15 AMâ 1:15 PM and 1:15 PMâ 5:00PM, seven day a week. We ask volunteers for a minimum commitment of at least one-year in this program.

The New York State Museum is a major research and educational institution.
